Mansehra, Peshawar, Haripur, Abbotabad, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Batkhela, Batagram, Swabi and Dir Lower Districts.
Objectives:
- Increase participation of religious leaders in a democratic process.
- Religious leaders becoming advocates of democratic process as well for increased women’s participations in the election process
Activities:
- Development of Islam and Election Booklet.
- Islam and Election workshop on provincial capital for religious leaders to discuss contents of booklet on the Islam and Elections and provide feedback on them.
- Workshop for local religious leaders on the need for women participation in the election process.
- Focused Group Discussion on importance of women participation in the elections.
- Discussion Programs on Radio including local languages
- Providing input on documentary on TV focusing on Islam and Election including the role of women in Democracy
- Community level meetings with women by female Islamic scholars
Outputs:
- Developed and Published a Booklet on Election and Islam in Urdu
- Organized Radio Programs on the Importance of Vote in Islam.
- Organized two focus group discussions on AVT Khyber News Channel on Election and Islam with special reference to highlight the participation of women and men in the process.
- Arranged Discussions on Election and Islam for the male and female scholars in which 1944 local women and men participated.
- 10 divisional Level workshops organized in which 387 Ulama participated from the selected districts.
- One Provincial Level Workshop organized in Peshawar and 72 Ulama participated
- Published 1000 Booklets on Election and Islam and disseminated them amongst Ulama, Khutiba and Aimmah of Mosques.
